Auto clean-up of HTML tags in captions

I uploaded my English language SRT file for translation. As I am translating to different languages, I am finding that my SRT export files contain many visible html tags and tags with extra spaces like . To fix this, I have been using Find and Replace in a text editor to remove them manually. It would be great to have these tags removed when they unsupported by the destination language.
